Talks

The greatest speakers do not merely tell an audience stuff. They go further by creating an understanding and belief that leads to action. The first question I ask my clients when they want me to speak is:

“What action do you want people to take?”

Once I understand this gem, I craft my words. I use my 30 years experience as a coach and a Trainer to focus on the understanding and belief required from the audience for that action.

The time limit for ever popular Ted Talks is 18 minutes. This is based on based both on neuroscience and strategy. They understood that 18 minutes was long enough for a speaker to flesh out an idea, but short enough that a listener could take in, digest, and understand all of the important information (ref: https://journals.physiology.org/doi/pdf/10.1152/advan.00109.2016)

I speak for 18 minutes. If your program is 1 hours or 2 hours then my Coaching and Training hat comes on and the audience begins to apply the topic. They are successful because in my 18 minutes I have considered their understanding and belief and then, and only then, it is about action.
